David Grundy, MD
David is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 20 years of experience in clinical emergency medicine, forensic medicine, and peer review. He specializes in providing medical-legal consultation and expert testimony in personal injury, medical malpractice, negligence, standard of care, complex causation, and wrongful death cases to attorneys nationwide. His approach is efficient, affordable, and always focused on adding significant case value, often yielding up to a 20X return on investment for his clients.
David earned a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, one of the nation's leading training programs. Board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he continuously engages in professional development and education to stay current with medical advancements and guidelines.
Throughout his career, Doctor Grundy has worked in diverse healthcare settings, including high-volume urban emergency departments, trauma centers, rural critical access facilities, and combat zones as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Currently, David practices full-time in a community emergency department in Northern California, where he also mentors and teaches newly graduated advanced practice providers.
David is the founder of Grundy MD Consulting, a firm that provides pre-litigation medical opinions, development of medical theories, assessment of medical damages, future medical cost analysis, case de-risking services, and expert testimony. His expertise in analyzing medical records, evaluating standards of care, and offering validated and compelling opinions has been widely recognized by the legal community.
In addition to his clinical practice, he has served as an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and has lectured in the U.S. and internationally. His background includes consulting for Fortune 500 companies on technical analysis of medical devices and early-stage project de-risking. These experiences further strengthen his ability to provide actionable insights and tailored solutions for complex legal cases. David’s extensive clinical and academic background, combined with his specialized expertise in medical-legal consulting, make him a highly qualified expert witness in emergency medicine.

With a sharp eye for detail and a knack for organization, she ensures that critical information isn’t just collected—but is truly understood and put to good use.
